2 volumes, 4to. Numerous black and white and color plates (those in volume one mounted). Volume one bound in original tan buckram and volume 2 bound on original blue buckram, leather spine labels (front hinge of volume two cracked); publisher's board slipcases (some wear along edges, volume 2 slipcase with split at tail of spine panel).
A extensive catalogue of the collection of Charles Bain Hoyt, which he donated to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 1949. The first volume covers Chinese art from the Neolithic Period through the T'ang Dynasty and the second volume covers the Liao, Sung, and Yüan Dynasties. The first volume is SIGNED BY DART on the front free endpaper: "With best wishes Robert Paul Dart October 16, 1965."
