Japanese pottery figural lidded teapot. Decorated with the messenger fox of the Inari Shrine (God of rice-bearing). Mustard colored glazed pottery. Wicker woven handle. Liquid pours from the fox's mouth. Condition: some repairs and losses. Fox's snout, 1.5" of the rim under the lid, and the bracket that holds the handle and minor glaze losses to lid. See images. Measures 4" tall without handle, and 8.5" tall with the handle. 7.5" long from the back to the end of the fox's nose. Shipping weight 2.4 lbs.
