Here we have an extraordinarily rare ancient Chinese Eastern Zhou Dynasty glass pendant bead.
The glass bead is intact and wearable with devitrification to the body commensurate with millennia of burial.
Of complex design there is a trefoil geometry to this bead. The colors are astonishingly beautiful and the design intricate almost a little floral in inspiration perhaps.
It weighs approximately 19.34 grams.
The overall shape is sphere of course being handmade it is slightly asymmetrical in form. It measures approximately 15/16" side to side and 15/16" across the middle of the bead (23mm, 24mm).
This bead is of exceptional rarity. Few examples have survived with a smattering of such beads held in the collection of the British Museum. It is in good condition consistent with it's age and authenticity being ready to gift, to wear or to display in a fine collection of ancient art.
