A large Amlash rhyton in the form of a humped bull, c. 1000-800 BC. The hollow vessel with cylindrical body and prominent neck hump, the muzzle extending into a long spout, with long horns and small ears below, vertical ridges for the dewlap and tail, on four tapering legs. H: 12 1/8" (30.7 cm); L: 13 5/8" (33.8 cm). Repaired and restored. Ex J. K. Collection, Toronto, Canada (acquired in the 1960's).
