A Scottish oval plated military shooting match trophy shield on wooden back plate, decorated with an angel holding laurel wreathes above two soldiers with Martini falling block rifles and with St.Giles, Edinburgh Castle and the Scott Monument all framed by thistles, known as the Artisan Challenge Shield, it was started in 1891 and shot for until the outbreak of World War Two in 1939, there is a gap in the list of named winners from 1913-1928 due to World War One 28" high x 20" wide
