James John Hill oil on canvas painting, circular portrait titled "A Country Maid" in large ornate frame with an oval spandrel opening signed on right J.J. Hill. Name plate with artist and title on the bottom of frame. James John Hill is a 19th century British painter known for his paintings of provential Europe. The painting is 28 x 36 inches without the frame. The oval frame is 6 inches at the corner. Circa 1870s. Frame and painting in excellent condition.
