The "late Richard Bachman's" signature (as signed by Stephen King) is on a fictitious check which has been mounted on the first page of the book. Each check has been individually numbered or lettered and made out to a different fictional recipient referred to in a Stephen King story. In this copy the check has been made out to "The Shop" in the amount of $300,000 for "exploding bicycle (memo). This is a reference to King's book "Firestarter" in which the shop pays $300,000 to investigate the feasibility of an exploding bike. Designed and produced by Chamel House for Dutton/Penguin Books.
