Mappin & Webb Sterling 1960's Modernistic Scepter
Unusual English sterling silver Mappin & Webb scepter or pointer hallmarked for London, 1966. The modernistic design wand has a bright red oval enameled center portion. The septer is from the Snell Isle estate of Mrs. Helen (Robert W.) Roberts. The family history provided is that the septer was presented to their mother as a token for a financial gift to Florida Presbyterian College, (now Eckerd College), in St. Petersburg, Florida. Measures 12" long, 2 1/4" wide. Weighs 5.2 ounces.
