William Cooper’s Sword Cane-Circa 1850-Cooper also known as “Vanderdecken” was a British yachtsman who wrote many books about the art of yachting. The silver handle has an engraving atop with the words “serve, love, and on the side of the handle William Cooper’s name is engraved, there is an Ellam, London silver cartouche, a coin silver collar with the name “Vanderdecken” engraved, the blade is a two sided 27” blade, hardwood with early worm hole shaft and a metal ferrule. The provenance on this cane is passed to us from the consigner, but after viewing the cane, it speaks for itself.-H. 6” x 2”, O.L. 35”-$1,200-$1,800
