FRAKTUR DATED 1816. N/R. Hand calligraphed, hand colored fraktur, wood block printed decoration which the artist enhanced with color, bird and flower border. Fraktur lists parents Johnnes and Elizabeth Diller commemorating birth of daughter Magdalena Oct. 5, 1816. Calligraphy in red ink. Size: 13 1/2" x 15 1/2", in frame: 17" x 19". Condition: fraktur laid on backing under glass, some foxing, name Magdalena crossed off and the name Martha added in pencil at a later date. Probably framed in the 1950's or 1960's. Wood frame with center gold painted inner rim.
