c. 1888, 38 Star Flag Kerchief, Choice Very Fine.
Listed as #637 in “Threads of History" (see page 273). 17.25” x 17.5,” printed in red and blue on off-white silk. Light age toning, some running of the colors in the top quarter, and with a small 1.5” x 1” glue stain at lower right from an old price tag; otherwise quite clean and defect-free. Stamped “Mastai Collection” in unobtrusive red letters in the lower right corner of the outer selvege.
