Artist: ALEARDO TERZI (1870-1943) Size: 8 1/4 x 11 3/4 in./21 x 29.9 cm Looking at the exhibition catalog from that year's Roman Secession, the resemblance between the cover and his collage is undeniable. Either Terzi designed the cover for the book or he blatantly copied the idea -- the font is identical, the swirls and flora similar to a fault, even the chalky teal background is the same. The only notable differences between the two images is where the text is actually placed and the addition of a black tree at the bottom of Terzi's example. Curious.
Paper collage with gouache and ink on board. Framed.
