Lot of two carved ivory okimono figures. 1ST ITEM: Man feeding two birds. Excellent condition, 4 1/2"H. 2ND ITEM: Man carrying a walking stick and basket of flowers. Condition: small break near his smallest finger, otherwise excellent. Both Japanese, Meiji period. Paper label remnant on base. 5"H. Provenance: purchased by George Mitchell (co-owner of Mitchell's Candy Store, Nashville) during the course of several trips to China and Japan in the late 19th-early 20th century. Mitchell estate.
