Item Details
Description
Adrien-Etienne Gaudez (Fr., 1845 - 1902), Bronze
a large patinated bronze figural titled "Le Duo Difficle," late 19th century, signed "A. Gaudez / Hors Concours" on a rotating circular base. The work depicts two young Baroque musicians pausing in practice while the violinist explains a melodic passage to his flute playing companion. The whole is set upon a circular plinth, the front of which carries an ornate title plaque.
27.5 in.

Condition
The wire representing the violin's E string is detached at the tuning peg; the violin bow is split at the frog; however, this is not casually apparent.
