Inventor and engineer; designer and builder of railroads, bridges, tunnels, steamships, etc. He built Great Western, the first steamship for regular transatlantic trips (1838) and Great Britain, the first ocean screw steamship. Brief ANS "I K Brunel," 1p, 12mo, Mar 2, 1835. In part, "...I have complied with your request...Yours affectionately..." Boldly penned and signed.
