741. ROCKWELL KENT (1882-1971). American painter noted for his bleak landscapes and his woodcuts illustrations of classic literature. He wrote and illustrated Voyaging: Southward from the Strait of Magellan (1924). TLS, 1p, 8½"x11", New York, Sep 24, 1965. On his Ausable Forks letterhead to Mr. Nazarian regarding his trip to NY. In part, "It is a good idea that you should see this Adirondack country in its fall splendor, but Nature is going to be behind with her fireworks this year...But we shall be continuously at home and will be glad to see you...Most of the 'Kent Collection' is in the Pushkin Museum in Moscow and the Hermitage in Leningrad, but since I haven't been showing pictures for a number of years I have a few in my studio that I can show you..."
