Description
743. ROBERT RAUSCHENBERG (b. 1925). American artist considered the pivotal figure in post-abstract expressionist art, employing a combination of techniques such as silk-screen, freehand painting, collage and assemblage, while branding his trademark "action painting" brush work onto the world of contemporary art. Colorful Limited Edition lithograph entitled Bulkhead (Day Lights), No. 372/750, 8½"x12". Signed in bold pencil "RR94". Fine example. Created by Rauschenberg in 1994 for the World Federation of United Nations Associations (a fund raising branch of the UN) in celebration of Earth Day. The environmentally friendly manner used to produce this art print belies the theme of his work, which is to symbolize the burden of over population. Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from the World Federation of UN with text providing details regarding this extraordinary print. Est: $300-500
