STRAUSS LISTS SUGGESTIONS FOR OPERA PROGRAM765. RICHARD STRAUSS (1864-1949). German composer best known for his symphonic poems such as Don Quixote (1897), and his operas, including Salome (1905) and Der Rosenkavalier. ALS in German, 2pp, small 8vo, Garmish, Jul 20, 1927. Untranslated. Superb musical content. To Herr Szendrei discussing a radio concert to be given on Oct 20 and suggesting a possible program to include his most famous works. Strauss indicates that the permanent conductors at Leipzig should prepare the program so that he himself will need only two rehearsals and asks whether the concert will be open to the public. He concludes by listing his suggestions for the program and includes the playing of selections from "Also Sprach Zarathrustra, Don Juan, Till Eulenspiegel, Tod and Verklarung and Le Bourgeois Gentlehomme..."
