767. JACQUES BLUMENTHAL (1829-1908). German-born a pianist to Queen Victoria and light music composer of Victorian ballads, among them "The Message" and "Venetian Boat Song." ALS on both sides of imprinted "Kensington Gore, S.W." card, 4½"x3½", Jan 27, 1896. To Mrs. Trust extending a rather lengthy invitation. In part, "I sh'd like you not to be too hurried...I sh'd like to show you some things, even though you may not care to sing them...We are beginning on Tuesday on the 4th Feb. My wife will send you your invitation card as soon as they are ready & we hope to see you as often as you care to come..." Boldly penned and signed.
