Albumin photograph being waist-up seated view of African-American man with highlights to hair, eyes, mouth, and beard. Image measures 8" x 6" oval mounted to 11.5" x 9.25" board that presents Frederick's New York blind stamp. Reverse of mounting card presents pencil inscription "Hung on Giblat Island, N.Y. Harbor 1859 or 60". Reverse also exhibits previous sale information in pencil. Photograph exhibits some foxing and slight staining. Previously sold at our Dec. 2002 auction.
