He was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1833 and 1834. President Andrew Jackson, nicknamed "Old Hickory," may have presented this stick on Crawford's visit to Jackson's Nashville, Tennessee, home "The Hermitage," in May of 1843.
Condition: Small dent on gold-plated cap which shows some tarnishing. There is a small triangular patch at the top edge of the wood shaft under the cap, next to an old 3/4 in. fairly tight crack in the wood.
