Finely carved 19th Century Chinese solid ivory snuff bottle with original chrysanthemum petal stopper with built in glass snuff spoon including brass fitted ring on stopper and opening. The deep fine intricate carving depicts graceful ladies in the detailed garden with chrysanthemum base. Circa second half 1800s. Dimensions: approx. 2 5/8" high X 2 1/4" wide X 1" deep. Strong demand for such pieces is evidenced by comparable sales including the sale price of $4,692 for Lot # 171 Ivory Snuff carved Bottle 2 ¾" high at Christie's South Kensington London on March 20th, 1992.
