Large (23") Chinese Ivory Carving Ming Dynasty

Large (almost two feet high) ivory figure of an immortal, late Ming dynasty, 16th-17th Century. The figure exquisitely carved face, hands and features with gentle expression, long incised beard, holding a document in the left hand while stroking his beard with his right. Condition commensurate with age – craquelure throughout with a few small slight points of damage (see photo) and age coloration. Dimensions: 23+ inhces (58.7 cm.) high X 4.57" wide X 4" deep.
