Autograph Letter Signed, “T. Sully”, December 21, 1856, no place, 8” x 5,” Choice Very Fine. To “Dear Koecker,” Sully writes: Is it not time to jog the memory of the collector who is to recover the debt of H. Smith Esq? If I knew his whereabouts I would not trouble you.” One of the leading portrait painters of his day, Sully’s subjects included Marquis de Lafayette, Jefferson, Madison, Jackson, and Queen Victoria.
