Item Details

Description

Walking stick from the Russell Islands, part of the Solomon Island chain. Two carved heads, mother of pearl inlay, (missing pieces). The walking stick was used as a sign of authority by the chief during tribal ceremonies. Measures 38.5" long. The faces are 3" x 3". Was verbally appraised at the Antiques Road Show on July 24th 2011.
