A Chinese silver & malacca cane. The silver knob handle is 2 1/4" high and 1 1/3" at its widest. It is finely decorated in a palace garden scene with a lolling noble couple and a servant among trees, leaves, and flowers. The shaft is full-bark malacca in honey-tone, with a 1 7/8" ferrous metal ferrule. The overall length is 34 1/2" and the condition is very good. It is probably Chinese, made for export ca 1885, and it is a very nice example of the type. Estimate: $450-$650.
