A yellowish-beige silk cape with a brocade pattern depicting roses and leaves; interior is lined in champagne-colored silk; originally worn by MM with an added fur trim and a matching evening gown (both pieces are now missing) to the premiere of the James Dean film, "East of Eden" at the Astor Theatre in New York City on March 9, 1955; weights are sewn to the outside sleeve area which the fur trim once covered; heavy rusting and staining evident throughout; two Christie's tags still pinned to garment as it was originally intended to be sold there in 1999.
