Description
An extremely important and very rare imperial carved lacquer Dragon Vase, the seal type mark inscribed in Chinese and Manchu "Yang Xin Dian" of the Forbidden Palace, Beijing, Quanlong period, the carved red lacquer on bronze with four five-clawed dragons in relief against a basket type weave design, the Greek key, leaf scroll and floral carved rim flanked with two bronze deer head handles, the body also carved with Chinese emblems and symbols on a circular floral carved foot 15.5" (39cms)h
Provenance: Property of a gentleman's private family collection, brought out of China before the onset of the Sino-Japanese War in 1937
