Two (2) posthumous etchings, Goya and Cezanne. 1st item: After Francisco de Goya Lucientes (Spanish, 1746-1828) etching and burin on laid paper titled "The Little Prisoner" or "Tan b·rbara la seguridad como el delito" (The custody is as barbarous as the crime). Published by Auguste Delatre in the 'Gazette des Beaux-Arts', Paris, 1867, vol. XXII, p. 196. "Gazette des Beaux-Arts" and "Imp. Delatre Paris", lower left and right under image. Housed under glass in a gilt wood frame. Plate - 4 1/4" H x 3 3/8" W. Sight - 5 5/8" H x 4 1/8" W. Framed - 15 1/4" H x 12 3/4" W. 2nd item: After Paul Cezanne (French, 1839-1906) etching on wove paper titled "Paysage a Auvers" (Landscape Near Auvers). Published in a posthumous edition. Black metal placard with artist name, dates, and title information, affixed lower center of frame. Housed under glass in a gilt wood frame. Plate - 5 3/8" H x 4 5/8" W. Sight - 6 1/2" H x 5" W. Framed - 15 5/8" H x 13 3/4" W. Provenance: Handwritten note on the back of the Cezanne frame indicates that it was originally purchased in 1984.
