Description
Three pieces late 19th century Gorham sterling silver hollowware, all of matching design with lobed bodies and shell and scroll borders: tray, tureen, and vegetable dish. 1st item: Round sterling silver tray or platter with scroll and shell border, the center monogrammed MGH, the back marked STERLING and 4187 with old lion-anchor-G mark for Gorham, 15 1/2" diameter. 2nd and 3rd items: Oval vegetable serving dish and cover, together with an oval footed soup tureen and cover, the soup tureen marked on underside STERLING and 8 with old Gorham lion-anchor-G mark, and the vegetable dish marked STERLING and 8. Tureen: 7 3/4" H x 12" W x 8" D including handles; Vegetable dish: 5" H x 11" W x 8" D. All pieces inscribed on underside in script: "Presented by Mrs. C.G.
