Two (2) musical items plus 14 discs including "Silent Night," 16 items total. 1st item: German Kalliope Musikwerke tabletop disc music box, Leipzig, Germany, serial #106612. Fitted for 7" discs with crank wound center and four bells. Serial number marked on disc arm and on top of works underside. Includes fourteen (14) discs, among them "Silent Night." Housed in a walnut case with shield inlay to the top and bun feet. Interior labels missing. 5 5/8" H x 10 1/8" W x 9" D. Early 20th century. 2nd item: German singing bird automaton comprised of a red bird on perch surrounded by foliage, housed in a gilt bird cage. Marked on the underside of the case "Germany". 9 1/2" H x 5 1/2" dia. 10.5 lbs. Late 19th/early 20th century. Private Middle Tennessee collection. Music Box functional although disc rests unevenly due to uneven wear to wheel supports beneath disc. Overall general wear to case. Some oxidation to discs. Winding key appears to be a replacement. General wear to finish of case, especially to feet. 2nd item: Some grime to the interior base of the bird cage, otherwise very good condition. Fully functional.
