Description
Panamint (Timbisha Shoshone) coiled basket, bottleneck form and wove from willow, joshua tree root and devil's claw root with repeating stair pattern to the sides and sun-burst pattern on the base. 4 3/8" H x 6 3/4" dia. Inyo County, California near the Nevada border, circa 1930-1940. Note: Basket maker unattributed but in the tradition of Grandma Ness, Isobel Hanson and Mary Wrinkle.
