Description
Two (2) Confederate frame buckles, including Forked Tongue and Beveled Edge. 1st item: Large "Forked Tongue" sand cast brass frame buckle. 69 mm x 101 mm (2.72" x 3.98"). Note: The buckle was dug in 1985 near the Richmond, VA Airport. The large size is the most common of the forked tongue buckles found in Confederate winter camps. See "Confederate Belt Buckles and Plates" by Steve E. Mullinax, 1999, page 102. 2nd item: Small Enlisted man's "Beveled Edge" Cavalry sand cast frame buckle. 55 mm x 61 mm (2.17" x 2.40"). Includes letter of authentication from Nick Periut of Army of Tennessee Relics, Knoxville, TN. Note: Plate was dug by Bill Dixon near Corinth, MS.
