Top of receiver marked "Mod. 98 byf 45", butt plate marked "GQM/44", magazine cover marked "SVW/byf", German acceptance proofs including Nazi eagle on magazine cover, receiver. Wooden stock, round barrel, metal and wood fore arm, hooded front sight. Includes bayonet, pommel marked "Jos Corts S n", "46" "5419b" with leather sheath, stamped "5419" and "Wilhelm Hanger & Braun Solingen 1935". Barrel length - 23 1/2". Overall length - 43 1/2". Ellis was a member of the the 70th Infantry Division, known as the "Trailblazers".
