Description
Pair of Anglo-Indian heavily carved hardwood side chairs having arched and scroll crest rails centering open-work splats, tongue-joined at the shaped seat backs, raised on turned legs. Ornately carved overall with compass rose, rosettes and border devices. Late 19th C.
Height: 39 inches, Width of seat at front bowed rail: 16 1/2 inches.

Condition
Good condition, commensurate with age. Chair 1: two small crack lines underside of front at seat rail. Chair 2: One locking wood pin/tongue missing underside where the chair splat fits to the chair seat causing the chair back to be slightly loose. There is an insignificant 2-inch age crack line on left side on seat top.
