Description
Two (2) 19th Century British watercolor paintings. 1st item: Henry John Yeend-King (United Kingdom/England, 1855-1924) impressionistic watercolor on paper landscape painting titled "A Worcestershire Lane Scene" depicting a bucolic landscape depicting a shepherd, his dog, and a flock of sheep on a dirt road in the foreground, with a small village in the middle ground, with a low mountain range in the background. Signed "Yeend King" lower left. Title and artist's name in black letter, lower center of gilt liner. Housed under glass in a giltwood molded frame with carved decorations at centers and corners. Sight - 6 3/8" H x 9 5/8" W. Framed - 13 1/2" H x 16 3/4" W. 2nd item: Thomas Bush Hardy (United Kingdom/England/France, 1842-1897) watercolor and gouache on paper marine painting titled "Upnor Castle on the Medway" depicting boats on the River Medway in Kent in the foreground with Upnor Castle, in the background. Signed, dated, and titled "T. B Hardy 1891 Upnor Castle - (Medway)", lower left. Title and artist's name in black letter, lower center of gilt liner. Housed under glass in a giltwood molded frame with carved decorations at centers and corners. Sight - 5 3/4" H x 8 1/4" W. Framed - 12 3/4" H x 15 1/4" W.
Condition
Both items overall very good condition with few minute foxing spots. Not examined outside of frames. Areas of loss, largest 1 1/8", to frames.
