Description
Five (5) American and European works on paper. 1st item: Elizabeth O'Neill Verner (South Carolina, 1883-1979) offset print titled "In the Shadow of St. Michael's, Charleston" depicting a street scene in Charleston, SC. Signed and numbered "Elizabeth O'Neill Verner 250/900," in pencil, lower right below image. Handwritten index card and envelope with artist and title information affixed en verso. Housed under glass in a black wooden frame. Image: 9 1/2" H x 6 3/4" W. Sight: 12" H x 8 3/4" W. Framed: 12 3/4" H x 9 3/4" W. 2nd-3rd items: Two (2) John Worthington Gregory (Massachusetts, 1903-1992) gelatin silver prints depicting landscapes, including one (1) titled "Danse Macabre" and one (1) titled "Unfinished Symphony." Both titled, in pencil, lower left to mat, both signed "John W. Gregory," in pencil, lower right to mat. Both with envelopes affixed en verso of frame. Both housed and double matted under glass in near matching black wooden frames. Sights: 4 1/2" H x 6 1/2" W. Frames: 9 3/4" H x 11 1/2" W. 4th item: Rod Hickok (American, 20th Century) etching titled "Desert Twilight" depicting cacti in a desert setting in the late afternoon. Titled, in pencil, lower left below image, signed "Rod Hickok," in pencil, lower right below image. Envelope with artist and title information affixed en verso. Housed and matted under glass in a black wooden frame. Image: 9" H x 6" W. Sight: 9 1/2" H x 6 3/8" W. Framed: 18 3/4" H x 14 3/4" W. 5th item: Georges Belin-Dollet (French, 1839-1903) etching depicting a woman pulling a wagon containing a baby along a road before a group of buildings. Signed and dated "Belin-Dollet 1881" in the plate, lower left. Signed "G. Belin. Dollet," in pencil, with an image of a man and plow horses, lower right below image, red monogram stamp, lower left below image. Housed and matted under glass in a giltwood frame with black trim. Image: 6 7/8" H x 9 7/8" W. Sight: 8 1/2" H x 10 3/4" W. Framed: 14 3/8" H x 15 3/4" W. Provenance: The Estate of Carolyn Mulder, Knoxville, Tennessee.
Condition
All items in overall good condition. Frames with minor abrasions. Not examined outside of frames. 1st item: Toning/acid burn, scattered minute foxing spots to sheet. 2nd-3rd items: Toning to mats. One mat with 1" tear, top center. 4th item: Toning/acid burn to sheet. 5th item: Toning/acid burn to sheet.
