Description

SHEBLE AND FISHER M1840 CIVIL WAR CAVALRY SABER Model 1840 Cavalry Saber produced by Sheble and Fisher of Philadelphia, supplied to state and militia units only, never Federally inspected. This heavy cavalry saber has a 35" blade, rusted and pitted, that runs into a triple branched hand guard. The grip is wire-wrapped leather over wood, fitted into a brass pommel. The wood is cracked down the length of the grip and the leather is flaking. Complete with a rusted scabbard. The ricasso is stamped with "Sheble and Fisher / Philad."
