Pair of Federal tiger maple canopy beds, each with arched canopy. Plain and tapered headboard posts with mortised arched pine headboards. Columnar posts at foot of bed with reeded baluster form upper shafts over ring turned lower shafts and rectangular blocks to hold ends of rails. Turned tapered legs. Ends measure overall expected wear. Finials included but not pictured. 80"H from top of canopy to floor. 66"H from top of posts x 38-3/4"W x 78"D. Mattress (38 x 74") and box springs included. Probably New England, early 19th century. Provenance: the estate of Margaret Wemyss Connor, Nashville, Tennessee.

Rails replaced, canopies probably added, otherwise very good condition.
