1st item: Kikugawa Eizan (1787-1867) woodblock print of a Geisha or Courtesan with fan and scroll in background. Matted and framed. Frame: 17 1/4" H x 13 5/8" W. Sight: 13 3/4" H x 9 1/2" W. 2nd item: Japanese Woodblock Print, woman with lute. Note en verso attributes it to Utagawa Toyokuni I (1769-1825), signed Ichiyosai Toykuni with 1843 Censor Seal, published by Sanoki, 1790-1085. Matted and framed. Frame: 21 5/8" H x 16 1/2" W. Sight: 13 3/4" H x 9" W. 3rd item: Japanese woodblock print attributed to Eisen Ikeda (1790-1848) of a Geisha before a window, looking out to a landscape with Pagoda in the background. Matted and framed. Frame: 20 3/4" H x 15 1/2" W. Sight: 13 7/8" H x 9 3/8" 4th item: Japanese woodblock of a Samurai holding a sword, with label on front margin "Toyokuni". Matted and framed; mat covers part of stamp. Frame: 20 3/4" H x 15" W. Sight: 13 5/8" H x 13 1/2" W. Provenance: the estate of Margaret Wemyss Connor, Nashville, Tennessee.
Condition
1st item: Appears glued to mat. Allover browning and creasing, especially to center. No tears noted. 2nd item: Overall toning, light minor edge creasing. 3rd item: Several creases, overall browning, fading. 4th item: Significant allover foxing, matted into the image.
