Description
Chinese Qing Manchu Official's Winter Hat, Braided Queue and Accessories. 1st and 2nd items: Black wool and silk skull cap with upturned brim, the crown covered with a red twine fringe bound by a coral colored ball or finial bearing a shou (good luck) symbol, with a single-eye peacock feather attached by a white Peking glass cylindrical holder, together with a braided queue of hair. 3rd item: Pair of spectacles with bronze mounts and the original silk embroidered spectacle case. 6" L. 4th item: Black lacquer cylindrical document holder with the original silk cord. 16" L. Qing Dynasty, Late 19th/early 20th century. Provenance: Collection of Milligan College, Tennessee. The Asian Cultural Exchange Foundation, Inc. in Washington D.C. presented these items to Milligan College in May of 1970.
Condition
Light wear to lacquer document holder. Other items very good condition.
