McClung Historical Society, Knoxville, TN): Jim Thompson (1881-1976) and his younger brother Robin Thompson (1895-1977) were business partners in Knoxville from 1920 to 1926 as Thompson Brothers. Both men, individually and in partnership, were successful commercial photographers and avid hikers. Their photographs documenting the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains in the 1910s and 1920s helped gain public support for a campaign to create the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, particularly on the Tennessee side of the park.
