Item Details

Description

East TN related items including a pair of medical saddle bags and oval wooden box. 1st item - A pair of Medical saddle bags, stamped MARSHALL with patent dates 1886. 1890, 1892. Both saddle bags have vials, tubes, and other containers of various sizes. Some labels remain. Also includes a pair of gold filled spectacles. Dimensions with both saddle bags latched together - 7 3/4"W x 8 7/8"L. Late 19th century. 2nd item - Oval wooden box with sides secured to bottom and top with square nails and ends of sides wrapped with split oak weaver. Mid 19th century. Provenance: Blount County, TN Living Estate.

Condition

1st item - leather with some cracking, a couple of test tube vials cracked, some bottles with missing stoppers. General grime and dust. 2nd item - overall very good condition.
