34 pieces of 19th century silver flatware, sterling and/or coin silver, most in the Olive Pattern, incuse retailer marks for William Kendrick (working Louisville, Kentucky circa 1824-1880). Includes 6 forks, 10 teaspoons, 12 dessert spoons, 4 tablespoons, and 1 sauce ladle, all in the Olive pattern, probably sterling, many pieces with additional marks for maker Wood and Hughes of New York (43.765 oz troy); together with 1 soup or punch ladle in the Fiddle Tipt pattern, likely coin silver, marked Kendrick and monogrammed MBM. (13"L, 5.60 oz troy). Circa 1860s. Provenance: the collection of John Montague, Memphis, Tennessee.
Condition
Scattered minor dents to large ladle and some wear to fork tines, overall very good condition. Olive pattern teaspoons and dessert spoons are monogrammed M.L. Irwin; forks and tablespoons are monogrammed JI(?).
