Pavel Bazhenov (1904-1941), Russian Palekh lacquer photo album, dated 1936. Titled: ‘Defending the Motherland.’ Unique Russian lacquer piece front cover depicts a soldier looking out of a telescope holding a rifle with industrial scenes behind him and air planes flying over head. The album has a lacquer cover and back with an embossed leather spine and engraved gilt latch, containing twelve double sided sturdy gilt-tipped pages for photographs. Signed titled and dated.
