David Dike Fine Art's annual auction of Texas art to benefit McKinney Avenue Contemporary
DALLAS – Noted Dallas/Ft. Worth art dealer David Dike will host his 13th Annual Exhibition and Auction of Texas Art October 18. Once again, this auction benefits the Texas Art Exhibition Fund at the McKinney Avenue Contemporary (MAC). For over twenty years, David Dike Fine Art, located in the heart of the gallery district of Dallas, has been educating collectors, specializing in late 19th and early 20th Century American and European oil paintings with a special emphasis on Texas artists. Texas artists including Thomas Allen, Jose Arpa, Reveau Bassett, Bill Bomar, Charles Bowling, Jerry Bywaters, Frank Callcott, Edward Eisenlohr, De Forrest Judd, Frank Klepper, Florence McClung, Blanche McVeigh, Perry Nichols, Julian Onderdonk, Peter Plotkin, Frank Reaugh, Porfirio Salinas, Paul Schumann, Olin Travis, Bror Utter, Robert Wood are among more than 300 works of art to be featured.
Extraordinary works including Medical Arts Building, Dallas Texas by locally born Reveau Basset and San Antonio, December 1878 by 19th-century artist Thomas Allen are expected to take top dollar.
David Dike, a native of Fort Worth and a graduate of Texas Christian University has made it his mission to spread the enthusiasm of Texas art.
