Orange Bowl Stadium auction to be held Feb. 9

Jan. 30, 2008

Virtually everything is up for sale, including signs, lockers, benches, framed Athletic Club photos, urinals, turnstiles and more. Even traditional operating items such as A/C units, generators, trees, garbage cans and food equipment are being liquidated in an attempt to generate as much revenue for the City of Miami as possible to fund the demolition process. In addition, outstanding memorabilia from Mounted Memories’ inventory will be for sale at the auction including autographed, framed and plaqued mementos.

“We encourage anyone who wants a piece of the Orange Bowl Stadium to come out and bid on some of the most prized elements of this historic place,” said Ross Tannenbaum, president of Dreams, Inc., parent company of Mounted Memories which is handling the asset recovery process at the stadium. “We have already received significant interest from individuals and businesses and we look forward to a large turnout on February 9.”

A preview of auction items will be held on Friday, February 8 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Saturday, February 9 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. The auction will begin at 11 a.m. and last until 5 p.m. on Saturday and, depending on the availability and quantity of the remaining items, additional auction hours are scheduled for Sunday from 12 noon until 5 p.m.
