April 5, 2004
AUGUSTA, Maine – LiveAuctioneers.com is pleased to announce it will sponsor antiques auctioneer Randy Inman and his nine teammates in the Maine Lung Association’s 20th annual charity bicycling event, Trek 2004.
The June 18-20 endurance event starts at the mountains of Sunday River Ski Resort in Bethel, Maine, and concludes at Harbor Park in Rockland. Approximately 1,700 participants will average 60 miles per day, biking over scenic, but rugged, mountainous terrain.
Entrants solicit pledges from friends, relatives and businesses to support their efforts, with all proceeds benefiting the Maine Lung Association’s in-state educational programs, advocacy efforts and research.
Additionally, teams seek major sponsors to pay for their ’cycling apparel and other expenses. Inman’s team will be outfitted with two sets of customized professional ’cycling shirts and logo’d hats, courtesy of LiveAuctioneers.com.
“We’re very grateful to LiveAuctioneers for stepping up to the plate and agreeing to provide sponsorship,” said Inman. “We’ll look and feel like a team, and that encourages a good performance.”
The high-profile event is one of the Maine Lung Association’s most important fundraisers and is underwritten by L.L. Bean, U.S. Cellular, MeadWestvaco, Sunday River Ski Resort and the Maine affiliates of television networks WB and UPN.
