LiveAuctioneers donates services to charity auction of RockCouture™ guitars customized by celebrity musicians, fashionistas, and artists

NEW YORK – LiveAuctioneers.com, the Manhattan-based facilitator of eBay Live Auctions, announces that it will provide live online bidding for a charity auction of RockCouture™ guitars taking place on May 31, so that bidders worldwide can participate in this exciting auction benefiting multiple worthy causes. Thirty of the biggest names in music, fashion and design have designed one-of-a-kind guitars using Fender Stratocasters® as their blank canvases. Celebrities contributing to the RockCouture™ collection include Bono, Ronnie Wood, Graham Coxon, Nick Rhodes, Jennifer Lopez, Philippe Starck and many more. The Deputy Chairman of Sotheby's UK, Lord Harry Delemeny, will auction the 30 guitars that make up the RockCouture™ collection at the Gibson Hall in London, to raise funds for numerous charities designated by each guitar's creator. Some of the charities include Amnesty International, Keep A Child Alive and Maggie's, which hopes to raise enough money from the sale to build and maintain a new Cancer Caring Center at Charing Cross Hospital in London. The RockCouture™ collection has grown exponentially since the project's inception, with a growing all-star lineup of artists who have personalized the guitars using materials as diverse as diamonds, religious medals, snakeskin, and photographic images. The results are as startling and individual as the artists themselves. Fashion Designer Hedi Slimane, for example, takes inspiration from his close ties to the British Indie music scene with a design that features a Union Jack, encrusted with Swarvoski Crystals. Photographer Peter Lindbergh pays homage to his favorite rocker, Keith Richards; Rankin depicts his favorite muse, Hedi Klum; and Canadian rocker turned photographer Bryan Adams has adorned his guitar with an image of the iconic Kate Moss.
