Santa Monica Auctions to hold annual Summer Live Public Auction June 10

(SANTA MONICA, Calif.) -- Santa Monica Auctions will host its annual Summer Live Public Art Auction to take place on Sunday, June 10. The sale will feature works from both mid-career and established artists in all mediums including modern and contemporary painting, photography, sculpture, drawing, multiples and prints. Live online bidding will be provided by LiveAuctioneers.com, where the full catalog is available for viewing.
Highlights from this sale include two untitled mixed media on canvas works by Barry McGee circa 1990; Pablo Picasso’s "Le Picador II from A los Toreros avec Picasso" lithograph from 1961; "Finger Pointing," a 1973 screenprint by Roy Lichtenstein; a 1996 untitled pencil drawing by Jim Shaw; a lithograph and original publication from 1980 by David Hockney entitled "Paper Pools;" and Joan Miro’s Le Lezard aux Plumes d’Orby lithograph from 1971.
According to the auction house, Santa Monica Auctions accepts significant works for consignment right up until the date of the sale, giving bidders last-minute surprises.
